Why you’re seeing “Rachel Mahoney” now

Here’s the real story. For over twenty years, I’ve been known professionally as RachelDeAlto, a name I kept after my divorce for my kids. However, in the past years, I have been legally and personally known Rachel Mahoney, ever since I got married in 2023 to my husband Kevin.

Over time, as my life and my work evolved, it started to feel… off… that my public identity and my personal identity were split between two names.

The Mahoney Family :)

I spend my days talking about authenticity, alignment, and bringing your whole self to your relationships and your work. Eventually, I had to look at my own name and admit: it was time to match the outside with the inside.

So I made the decision to step fully into the name that fits this chapter of my life:

I’m now speaking, writing, and creating as Rachel Mahoney.

That doesn’t erase Rachel DeAlto. It just means my name finally reflects the whole of who I am today.

Who I am, no matter which last name you use

If you landed here by searching for “Rachel Mahoney speaker” or “Rachel DeAlto speaker,” here’s what you need to know about me in one place:

  • I’m a keynote speaker and author who helps humans—especially at work—feel seen, heard, and understood.

  • I work with leaders, teams, and organizations on human connection, communication, and building cultures where people can actually thrive (not just survive).

  • I’ve spent years doing that under the name Rachel DeAlto. Now I’m doing the same work, with even more depth and clarity, as Rachel Mahoney.

So whether you know me as DeAlto or Mahoney, you’re in the right place.

What’s changing (and what’s not)

What’s not changing:

  • My mission: helping people become relatable and feel SEEN—in their relationships, on their teams, and in their organizations.

  • My topics: connection, communication, leadership, and what makes humans tick at work.

  • My style: honest, evidence‑informed, and very human. If you’ve seen me on stage or online, that’s not going anywhere.

What is changing:

  • The name you’ll see on everything.

    • Website: rachelmahoney.com

    • Speaking pages and event materials: Rachel Mahoney

    • For a while, you’ll see “Rachel Mahoney (formerly known as Rachel DeAlto)” so no one gets lost in the transition.

If you see old clips or articles with “Rachel DeAlto,” that’s still me. Those chapters are part of my story and my work.

If you discovered me as Rachel DeAlto

If you’re here because you saw me on TV, at an event, or online as Rachel DeAlto, I’m still here.

I’m just inviting you into the next chapter with a name that lines up with the life I’m living and the work I’m doing.

If you’re just meeting me as Rachel Mahoney

If this is your first encounter and you only know me as Rachel Mahoney, welcome.

You’re catching me at a really exciting time—where years of experience under one name are now flowing into a new chapter under another.

Here’s the bottom line:

  • I help humans and organizations transform the way they connect and communicate.

  • I speak, write, and create tools that help people feel seen, heard, and safe to be themselves at work.

  • I believe your people are your strategy—and how they feel day‑to‑day matters more than any slogan on the wall.

What this name change represents

This isn’t just a branding exercise for me.

It’s a reminder—maybe for you too—that:

  • You’re allowed to evolve.

  • You’re allowed to grow out of older versions of yourself.

  • You’re allowed to choose the name, the story, and the alignment that fits who you are now.

My work has always been about human connection and feeling seen. Changing my professional name to Mahoney is one more way I’m choosing to live that out, not just talk about it.

Moving forward together

So, from here on out, you’ll see:

Rachel Mahoney (formerly known as Rachel DeAlto)

Same message. Same mission. Same human.
